The premium cigar industry had a busy week as manufacturers began turning their attention toward InterTabac 2026 in Dortmund, Germany. Several completely new blends were announced, familiar lines gained new vitolas, limited editions began shipping, and a few unusual event-only cigars joined the mix. From Crowned Heads paying tribute to Nashville music history to AGANORSA expanding Supreme Leaf for the international market, there is quite a bit for cigar smokers to keep an eye on.

Crowned Heads Starwood

Crowned Heads introduced Starwood, a new event-only cigar named after Nashville's legendary Starwood Amphitheater. The venue was a major part of Nashville's concert scene, and Crowned Heads President Jon Huber has described it as a place tied to some of his own formative music memories.

Starwood is being produced by Nicaragua American Cigars S.A., better known as NACSA, and comes exclusively as a 5 x 50 Robusto. The blend uses an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper with Nicaraguan tobacco from Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe underneath. Unlike a traditional retail release, Starwood will only be available at select Crowned Heads events. It replaces Blood Medicine as the company's dedicated event cigar after Blood Medicine moved into Crowned Heads' limited-edition portfolio.

J.C. Newman Brick House Bricktoberfest 2026

One of the more timely releases of the week comes from J.C. Newman with the return of Brick House Bricktoberfest. The 2026 edition is now shipping to retailers in the United States and Germany.

This year's Bricktoberfest is a substantial 7 3/4 x 48 Churchill finished with a pigtail cap. It is handmade at J.C. Newman's PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, using an Ecuadorian Havana Rosado wrapper over Nicaraguan tobaccos. The cigar was specifically blended to accompany a bold, malty Oktoberfest-style lager, making the timing of the release appropriate as fall beer season arrives.

Bricktoberfest comes in boxes of 10 with an MSRP of $12.50 per cigar, or $125 per box. Participating retailers are also offering an exclusive hand-painted Bricktoberfest beer stein with the purchase of a box while supplies last.

AGANORSA Leaf Supreme Leaf Worldwide

AGANORSA Leaf is taking one of its most recognizable modern brands beyond the United States with Supreme Leaf Worldwide. The new cigar is not simply an international version of an existing Supreme Leaf. It receives its own blend and is scheduled to debut at InterTabac 2026 before eventually reaching the American market at PCA 2027.

Supreme Leaf Worldwide uses an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with AGANORSA-grown Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí, Condega and Jalapa in the binder and filler. Two sizes are planned: a 5 7/8 x 52 Cañonazo and a 4 7/8 x 50 Robusto Clásico, both packaged in 10-count boxes.

For American Supreme Leaf fans, this is one to remember rather than immediately hunt down. The international release comes first, with the U.S. debut planned for March 2027.

AGANORSA Leaf JFR Clara

AGANORSA also announced JFR Clara, a noticeably lighter expression of a brand normally associated with richer Nicaraguan profiles. The cigar is being introduced at InterTabac and is intended for international markets outside the United States.

JFR Clara is produced in Nicaragua with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler. It will be available as a 5 1/2 x 44 Corona, 5 x 50 Robusto and 6 x 50 Toro.

The idea is to retain the flavor expected from AGANORSA tobacco while providing a more approachable profile with subtle sweetness and balance. It should be particularly interesting for smokers who enjoy Nicaraguan tobacco but do not necessarily want a heavy cigar every time they light up.

Casdagli Daughters of the Wind Rosado

Casdagli Cigars added another significant announcement on September 14 with Daughters of the Wind Rosado, a new extension of the company's Daughters of the Wind Collection. It will make its debut at InterTabac 2026 and is expected to begin shipping during September.

The cigar is produced at IGM Cigars in San José, Costa Rica, and puts Costa Rican tobacco at the center of the blend. It uses a Costa Rican-grown Habano Rosado wrapper and Costa Rican binder. The Daughters of the Wind name is connected to owner Jeremy Casdagli's family history with Arabian horses, giving the line one of the more unusual backstories in the premium cigar industry.

Casdagli Petit Exquisito Dominita

Casdagli had another new release this week with Dominita, the newest member of its Petit Exquisito Collection. The collection uses small-format cigars to celebrate different countries, and Dominita turns its attention toward the Dominican Republic.

Dominita is made entirely with long-filler Dominican tobacco grown on Leo Reyes' farms in Navarrete and is produced at the Flor de los Reyes factory in the Dominican Republic. Two versions are being introduced, Corojo Original and Corojo 2012. Both measure 4 x 35 and come in 10-count soft packs.

Even the artwork stays connected to Dominican culture. Dominita takes its visual inspiration from El Diablo Cojuelo, one of the best-known figures associated with Dominican Carnival.

Flor de Selva Año de la Cabra

Maya Selva Cigars is continuing its Chinese zodiac series with Flor de Selva Año de la Cabra, or Year of the Goat, created for the 2027 zodiac year. The cigar is scheduled to debut at InterTabac.

Año de la Cabra is a 6 x 56 Gordo and a Honduran puro. The wrapper comes from Finca San Carlos, the binder from Jamastrán, and the filler combines tobaccos from Jamastrán, Azacualpa and Santa Barbara. Production takes place at Fábrica de Puros MSC in Honduras.

One particularly interesting design element is the foot of the cigar. A darker section of wrapper has been incorporated to visually suggest a goat's hoof. The cigars will be presented in 10-count boxes. This is the tenth installment in Maya Selva's annual zodiac project, making the series increasingly interesting to collectors who have followed it from the beginning.

Maya Selva's InterTabac Lineup

Año de la Cabra is not the only thing Maya Selva is bringing to Germany. The company is also highlighting the VZ Danlí Corto 46 and a Flor de Selva Heritage Collection.

The VZ Danlí Corto 46 is a compact 4 x 46 figurado joining the Robusto and Toro in the VZ Danlí family. Its blend centers on Honduran tobacco, including a Carmelita wrapper, a binder from Trojes and additional tobacco from Jamastrán and Azacualpa.

The Heritage Collection takes a different approach. Rather than introducing an entirely new blend, it revisits five established Flor de Selva Classic vitolas: Petit Corona, Robusto, Fino, Churchill and Doble Corona. It is essentially a celebration of the original Flor de Selva line, which dates to 1995.

Maya Selva Timón

Maya Selva is also introducing Timón, a new cigar brand positioned as a more accessible entry into handmade Honduran cigars. The company is clearly using InterTabac as a major platform this year, with Timón appearing alongside the new and expanded Flor de Selva offerings. The new brand was formally announced for the European market during the week.

New England Cigar Expo Limited Edition

This might win the award for the week's most unusual presentation. The New England Cigar Expo has teamed with Perdomo Cigars for an extremely limited 2026 event cigar packaged in custom pizza boxes.

The cigar is being made at Tabacalera Perdomo in Estelí using an exclusive blend created for the Expo. Only 300 boxes will be produced, with 14 cigars in each box. The pizza theme ties into a pizza-eating competition planned for this year's event, but the organizers have emphasized that the cigar itself is a serious premium release despite the playful packaging.

Boxes are priced at $159.99, with two boxes offered for $300. Expo ticket holders will receive the first opportunity to buy them on the second day of the event, September 26. Any remaining inventory is expected to become available online September 28. With production limited to roughly 4,200 cigars, this could disappear quickly.

Don Emmanuel Anunnaki Enki

Don Emmanuel Cigars is expanding its Anunnaki line with Enki, a new 6 x 54 figurado. It becomes the fourth vitola in the Anunnaki family and is scheduled for its public showcase at InterTabac 2026 in Dortmund.

Rather than creating an entirely separate blend, Don Emmanuel is using the figurado format to offer another interpretation of the existing Anunnaki line. The international unveiling is also part of a broader expansion period for the company as it continues building distribution outside its existing markets.

Gellis Family Cigars Essentials

Kyle Gellis, known to many smokers through Warped Cigars, is preparing another release under Gellis Family Cigars. Essentials is an unusually slim 4 1/2 x 32 petit corona-style cigar designed around a light Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan filler.

The cigars are produced at Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic and will arrive in old-school 50-count slide-lid cabinets. MSRP is $6.99 per cigar, putting a full cabinet at $349.50.

Gellis is also offering a green leather travel case specifically designed to carry six Essentials cigars. The case is priced at $100. The cigar's small ring gauge and relatively low individual MSRP make Essentials stand out in a market that has increasingly moved toward larger formats and higher prices.

VILLIGER de Nicaragua Edición Limitada 2026

VILLIGER is closing a chapter with the 2026 VILLIGER de Nicaragua Edición Limitada. The annual project began in 2022 following the opening of VILLIGER's factory in Estelí, and the company says this year's edition will be the final release in the series.

The finale comes as a 6 x 60 Gordo using an Ecuadorian Desflorado wrapper, Mexican binder and a filler combination of Nicaraguan tobacco from Condega and Jalapa along with Pennsylvania tobacco.

Production is highly restricted. Germany receives 650 boxes while another 300 boxes are reserved for Switzerland. Pricing is €20 per cigar in Germany and CHF 21 in Switzerland, with availability beginning September 15. For collectors who have followed the annual VILLIGER de Nicaragua releases since 2022, this one carries more significance because it officially closes the series.

Alec Bradley Uncut Series Batch 10

Alec Bradley returned to its Uncut Series this week with one of the more interesting cigar and spirits combinations of the year. Batch 10 pairs two Alec Bradley Thirty Years Perfectos with a bottle of seven-year Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond Single Barrel bourbon.

The cigars measure 6 3/4 x 54 and use a Honduran Trojes wrapper, dual Honduran Jamastrán and Nicaraguan Jalapa binders, and fillers from Honduras and Nicaragua. The Perfecto itself is a 2026 retail-exclusive format created as part of Alec Bradley's 30th anniversary celebration.

Only 150 packages are available to the public. The set is priced at $70 before shipping and is being offered exclusively through Bourbon Outfitter. This is less of a conventional new cigar release than a highly limited collector pairing, but with only 150 sets available, it certainly deserves attention from Alec Bradley fans.

A Busy Week Before InterTabac

The biggest story behind this week's releases is InterTabac. With the international tobacco trade show opening in Dortmund on September 15, manufacturers spent much of the week revealing what they plan to put in front of retailers and distributors. AGANORSA Leaf, Maya Selva, Casdagli and Don Emmanuel all have new products tied directly to the show, giving European and international cigar smokers considerably more to watch than they would during a normal September week.

For American smokers, J.C. Newman's Brick House Bricktoberfest is one of the releases that can actually be found at U.S. retailers now, while Crowned Heads Starwood presents a much harder target because of its event-only distribution. Gellis Essentials should also be worth watching as it reaches retailers, particularly for smokers who have been asking for smaller ring gauges.

Next week could be even busier. Once InterTabac gets underway, we should get a clearer look at additional blends, pricing, production numbers and distribution plans that manufacturers have not yet disclosed.
