July's New Releases

July 2026 gave cigar smokers plenty of new releases to watch, with manufacturers leaning heavily into limited editions, new sizes, patriotic releases, and blends that expand existing brands. It was the kind of month that showed how much the premium cigar market continues to balance tradition with experimentation.

One of the notable July releases came from Ashton with the La Aroma de Cuba El Jefe Sampler. The five-cigar sampler introduced the La Aroma de Cuba Habano Reserve in the large 7 x 58 El Jefe format for the first time. The Habano Reserve uses an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler and is produced at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí. Previously, Habano Reserve was only offered in the 6 x 52 Monarch, making the El Jefe a significant expansion for the relatively young line. The sampler also includes the original La Aroma de Cuba and Connecticut versions of the El Jefe.

United Cigars also used the summer to turn a successful limited edition into something permanent. After the Independence Firecracker proved popular, United announced the regular-production Independence line in Robusto and Toro sizes. The blend combines a Mexican Habano wrapper, Dominican binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. Production takes place at Arnold André in the Dominican Republic. The Robusto carries a suggested retail price of $10.50, while the Toro comes in at $11.00. Retail shipments were scheduled to begin in late August.

Hiram & Solomon also began shipping two limited releases in July, Mystic Tie and Fraternal Flame. Both debuted at the 2026 PCA Trade Show and are offered as 6 x 52 Toros. Mystic Tie stands out visually with its barber-pole construction, while both cigars maintain the Masonic connections that have long been central to Hiram & Solomon's identity. A portion of proceeds from the releases is also being directed toward charity.

Those releases were only part of a busy month. July industry reports included new products or announcements from brands such as Artesano Del Tobacco, Forged Cigar Company, Hooten Young, Wildfire Cigar Company, Micallef Cigars, and others.

July ultimately offered something for almost every type of cigar smoker. There were collectible limited editions, larger formats of established blends, new regular-production cigars, and releases built around history and Americana.
